RIPON, San Joaquin County — October 25, 2026. As October ends, Ripon residents should check the city’s official watering schedule rather than assume rules are the same every day. The current municipal notice distinguishes even-numbered and odd-numbered street addresses, prohibits Monday watering and restricts watering during the warmest part of the day.

What watering schedule is posted?

For the city’s March–October schedule, the municipality says even-address properties may water Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, while odd-address properties may water Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. No watering is allowed on Mondays, and watering is prohibited between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on permitted days. These are posted citywide rules; any special exemptions, penalties or changes should be confirmed directly with the responsible municipal department. The city may update its schedule for the colder season, so residents should not assume the March–October days automatically continue into November.

Recycling center: updated posted hours

The city’s home page also advertises updated hours for the municipal Recycling Center: Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m.–3 p.m.; closed Sunday and Monday. Verify which materials the facility accepts, whether any items carry fees and whether holiday hours differ before loading a vehicle. These hours are for the recycling facility, not City Hall or ordinary curbside collection.

Mistlin Park’s splash pad season ends October 31

According to the city’s announcement, the Mistlin Park Splash Pad operates April 1 through October 31, 10 a.m. until dusk. The end-of-October date is a seasonal schedule, not a guarantee that the equipment will be available during a particular hour if maintenance or weather interferes. Families should consult any newest parks notice rather than assuming summer amenities are open in November.

October Parks and Recreation Commission session was canceled

The official Agenda Center contains a cancellation notice for the October 14, 2026 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. This matters because the public city calendar lists a regular Parks and Recreation date for October 14: an event appearing on a recurring calendar is not proof that the body actually convened. The city reports that the commission normally meets on the second Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the City Hall main conference room, but residents should check each month’s specific notice.

How to track City Council decisions

Ripon’s Council records page says the City Council generally meets at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday each month, at 259 N. Wilma Avenue. The City makes agendas available online, offers free email alerts when regular agendas are posted and broadcasts Council meetings on its official video channel. Minutes become available after approval; a recommendation on an agenda is not a final vote.

For municipal services and meeting questions, Ripon City Hall lists (209) 599-2108. Ripon News welcomes corrections and updates supported by city notices.

Official sources checked October 25, 2026: Ripon City Website and Watering Schedule, Agenda Center and October 14 Cancellation, City Council Meeting Information. Seasonal hours and service rules may change.
